A 3-year stipend of £12,600 per annum is open to all nationalities. Additionally, we pay your tuition fees at the UK/EU level.

A PhD position is available to investigate the role of cellular factors that apparently allow cells with DNA damage to proliferate and develop multiple chromosome aberrations in budding yeast. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic PhD student with a strong interest in genetics and molecular biology. The studentship will be undertaken in the Crucible Laboratory within the Newcastle Centre for Life. The Crucible Laboratory is affiliated with the Institute for Ageing and Health (http://www.ncl.ac.uk/iah), a large, inter-disciplinary research institute at Newcastle University, with an international reputation for excellence.

Eligibility
Applicants should have an excellent undergraduate record and some research experience. The studentship (stipend and university fees at UK/EU level) is open to all nationals, however non-EU applicants will have to fund the difference between UK/EU and overseas tuition fees themselves, approximately £8000 per annum for a minimum of three years.
